Check out El Jefe!

Looks like our troubadour extraordinaire music philanthropist got himself on the SPIN.com Fashion Look Book. Check out old Schenk (Schenle?!) in all his majesty.

Borderlands

A four player co-op shooter RPG? Well damn, I’m interested. Kotaku’s got the latest screenshots of the game and a little Google research pulled up this on Wikipedia:

Little is currently known about gameplay, other than the game will feature four player cooperative play along with other singleplayer and multiplayer modes. In addition, players have access to customizable vehicles for “vehicular combat” and will also be able to customize their character. Deceased enemies will drop their equipment, which is available for you to pick up. You will be able to choose from 4 different playable characters, who each have their own unique abilities. It is inspired by the Mad Max film series and Diablo by Blizzard.

Emphasis added.

Got a street date of 9/1/2009 according to Gamestop and a vague 2009 release date on Wikipedia. Hopefully some gameplay footage will get out soon so we can get a feel for it. Oh, and it’s not cel-shaded. It’s “concept art style” (it’s really cel-shaded… and it looks pretty good).

Mercenaries & Online

Good to hear there is some friendly old school high score competition going on with Mercenaries (for those of you who don’t know Mercenaries is the unlockable game within resident evil 5 that is probably good enough to be sold on its own imo). Question though: do you guys have the online versus dlc? I would love to go toe to toe with you guys in a 3 player free for all mercenaries match.

Chuck Season Finale Tonight at 8

Hey guys,

Hope you all get a chance to watch the season finale of Chuck tonight at 8. Should be an awesome show. It might be the last episode ever, which would be a shame. There’s a campaign to get everyone to go to Subway and buy a footlong tonight, which I will be participating in… Subway is a major supporter of Chuck, so the hope is that this will encourage NBC to give it a third season.

So I was under the impression that KOTOR MMO was free

but apparently that is not correct. Just read something where the bioware chief said that when the game is done they will charge what other mmo’s typically charge. IE whatever WOW charges. lame.

BSG Survey

Okay friends. Dylan and I have been having an argument for a few weeks now on the merits (or lack there of) of Gaius Frakkin’ Baltar. So the question is follows:

“Is Gaius a ‘bad person’?”

Super vague, but you know what I mean (if you’ve seen the show). Possible spoilers within comments so click at your own risk.

Let’s play some Halo

I saw Swede and David playing Halo last night and was able to join them. It’s still a fun game and now avalanche is free to download (I’m pretty sure). I’m home after 4 PM today so if you’re free give me a call. It would be cool if we could get a bunch of us on say around 6 Pacific time.

How is Mass Effect coming Joe?

You Might Have A Problem When…

… you started watching season 4 of BSG last night at 10ish and you are going out to breakfast after reaching the 18th episode at 10ish the next morning……

Haven’t done an allnighter in who knows how long. Sometimes you gotta roll the hard six.

Resident evil 5 DLC

Okay so i got it. Here’s my impressions in case you are wondering if you should buy: So the multiplayer modes all pit the players against both zombies and each other at the same time. It utilizes the characters (all 10) and levels from mercenaries. From what i have played so far the modes where you are just trying to kill the other players for points are dumb. But the modes where either four players are competing in what is essentially the mercenaries game to try and get the highest score (in either solo or team modes) are way fun. In these modes you can still kill the other players, but its not really the focus of the game because the points are in the combos and defeating the boss characters and so forth. You earn points that can be used to unlock RE5’s special features (just like in other RE modes) and also if you perform really well you will unlock new characters in the multiplayer (you start with only chris and sheva in their standard costumes). Anyway i would love to go head to head with you guys in some four player mercenaries.
