After School Gets Out

Hey I don’t know about you guys, but for me my studies are the last thing that is on my mind these days as i’m pretty much on cruise control towards graduation. But what is of my constant reflection is what I, and you people will be doing after graduation. I would love to know.

I’m planning on working for a year or two and then applying to grad school. I’d love to live with or near you guys. I’m looking for jobs in the bay area or maybe in NY. We’ll see. What are you doing, Cody?

About the same i suppose. I want to get some work experience (though sadly i’m at a loss for what field that will and should be). I know that I am sick of school, so if i do go back it will be a year or two and probably not to continue my pursuance of literature. I honestly have no idea where or what I should do. I do feel that getting out of san luis is probably a good idea.

Grad school for me. Looking at Portland, New Jersey, and SF. I’m a bit behind you guys so I might take an extra semester and go do a little study abroad before though.

I’m thinking of growing a whole bunch of tentacles and just working that angle. But yeah, I’m thinking about going to law school in either LA or SF, but the thought of taking a year or two off is very appealing. I’m incredibly wiped and have been putting little to no effort into this quarter. bah, but i need to look for a slo job in the short run because my sweet gig as a paid intern ends when i graduate next quarter.

i’m sort of personally love hating grad school. It sounds nice because school is all i really know how to do, but i think i need to find the field of work that i want to be in before or if i do that. need to spread the old wings a bit and see where they take me.

I’m taking classes through spring, then they give me a piece of paper of some kind, then I roll right into grad school for another two years. Still down here in the SD money money. After that, south bay??

Cody: Remember how going from h.s. to college, it was like all the dumb people disappeared and suddenly we were all surrounded by people who actually thought about things and liked learning about interesting stuff? Well, grad school is the same thing again. Plus it is almost no work if you do it right. Plus they pay you to go if you do it right.

Ryan: New Jersey? Really? That had better be for Princeton, because that’s the only reason I can think of to travel to that godforsaken land.

SO it looks like ill be finishing class in july, then i graduate in september. Ive been looking into grad school, but a few years of trying to make life happen for a bit. Given the nature of my interesting career choice i could theoretically get a job anywhere. and I agree with kyle, living with/near you all would be so excellent. Id preferably like to stay on this coast for a bit though, as far as moving.

Oh, I have an idea for a club. What if we made the outside look like the inside with couches and music, and then on the inside it looked like the outside with cars and mailboxes and street signs?

What Dylan and I want is more like a dive bar, but we’re willing to compromise.

My idea: go in together with Brig and open it as a bakery during the day and a bar at night. Would somehow need to get the smell of beer and urine out of the bar every night before opening the bakery though.

We could call it “The Bakery”

Nice, I like what I see here. I’ll throw one out there “Schenk & Bake.”

I’ll look into SF jobs when I finally graduate. Right now it’s looking like that will be in Spring 10……. always do it forever.

I could see Schenk and Bake becoming slang for rape, but that might just be me. I like the originality though, of all the suggestions. Now to actually find a location…

so in the meantime before the bar comes to inevitable fruition, anyone want to split a place up here in the fall perhaps? for said spreading of wings and a change of scenery for a bit?

Bars are excellent drug fronts, we could write in all of the unexplainable cash as tips and thus launder it.

Comment by cody

November 18, 2008 @ 9:32 pm

if were going to have a drug front it better be an arcade.

I also propose slight prostitution and/or sweat shop in the basement. But we may be getting slightly ahead of ourselves. Still looking for a location right now.

hey, so just had a realization after talking to my ex gf about the bar idea. if we make the whole thing cooperativly owned between all of us, it would be very cheap to get going since we would all have equal shares, and all of us would split profit evenly. dunno why i hadnt thought of that before

Comment by cody

November 24, 2008 @ 2:06 pm

but would we also split the drugs and child labor profits equally?
