Breaking news from the Microsoft E3 2008 press conference. Square Enix head honcho Yoichi Wada took the stage to announce Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360.

Yes, just take a moment to soak that up. Final Fantasy XIII coming to the Xbox 360. Holy fucking shit. Simultaneous release in Europe and North America with PS3. Wow.

So since I just posted this and I found this other stuff on Kotaku as well I thought I’d just update this post with the other info:

Rock Band 2 optional drums look awesome, plus they’re only $300 so, you know, why not? Also some updated info on the tracklist and backwards compatibility (looks like more than just the downloadable stuff will work – pretty nice). I’m excited, but then again I haven’t even mastered drums on expert completely yet, so I may put off snagging it, we’ll see. Also with the whole Guitar Hero 4 having drums thing I may have to wait and evaluate their tracklists (though in all honesty Rock Band interface kicks Guitar Hero’s in the ass).

I agree about Rock Band’s interface being better, but we’ll see what they do with Guitar Hero 4. Yes to FFXIII coming out in the 360. I just hope the battles system is a bit more involved than XII. I noticed though, while I watched the new trailer for FFXIII that I am starting to outgrow their target audience. The main characters are bit to hipster IMO.

By the way, DIABLO 3 IF YOU KNOW WHAT I’M SAYING?!@?1!

I mean, Diablo 3 isn’t going to be coming out until like 2012, 2013. Do you know how long that is from now? We’re going to be old. Some of us are going to have like children by then.

kg, I wish these things you’re saying about kids weren’t so dang true. Even if somehow none of us are married and settling down with a family yet, most of everybody we know will be. This getting older thing is serious crazy.

after not playing games for a long time (had a stint as an alcoholic for a bit, currently got a girlfriend) all I can think about is how much I want to play some starcraft, or warcraft, or magic with you guys. Im craving a 1000 hour game of civilization. I want to play halo real bad like, and I just bought a copy of front mission 4 off gamestop. So i thing although interest may waver, if your a gamer your a gamer. atleast for me.. I am most certainly going to be playing whatever next gen awesome thing is out come 5-10 years from now, more likely than not WITH my children.
