Relay for Life

Hey guys! I don’t know if you guys have this at your schools or not but we’re going to be doing this thing called Relay for Life, in which we’re trying to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society is a really good organization committed to fighting cancer–they also have other events like Camp Reach for the Stars, which you may know about. I guess I kinda feel like I owe some sort of penance for all of the jokes about cancer I’ve made in my life.

It would really help if you guys could donate $5 or $10 or so… You can do it online here!

In the Land of Wind and Ghosts

I journeyed back to the land of my birth and killed my sensei in a duel, I shed not a tear. (I went home and beat AJ at Street Fighter for the first time ever. And it was good).

Movie ideas

So, here at MIT we’re doing this film thing where they give us a laptop and video camera and we have to make a 5 minute short movie. I’m going to the resident experts here for ideas.

Basically we want to involve our recent hall acquisition: a fleet of Razor scooters. I proposed and persuaded and at last we have 5 razor scooters at our disposal: orange, green, black, red, and blue.

But we’re not quite sure what to do with them. We’re thinking something along the lines of a mockumentary on scooter gangs might be fun. We’d have shots of us riding down our main indoor hallway, the Infinite Corridor, doing the weave, with the last person continually weaving up through the file of people. We could also descend on someone walking along minding their business, and circle them dramatically while taunting. Stuff like that.

We also think it might be fun to do like a tricks video type thing. Something along the lines of this. Of course, none of us can do tricks, really, so it would be dumb tricks like riding with one hand holding on, or jumping from the left foot on the scooter to the right foot. But we’d have enthusiasm of course. (Actually, I can jump down three stairs, do tailwhips, and other sweet things. Just as Eric. We’re Razor champions!)

So… ideas?

Jose Lopez vs. Guy Calladine vs. Van Helsing vs. The Moon

Who do you think would win? Or would space time just dissolve because they were all to close together for the universe to handle?

PS3 continues to disappoint

I just read Penny Arcades latest post. Looks like they got suckered into buying a PS3 because of “Home” and LittleBigPlanet. LittleBigPlanet looks cool, but Home looks like a waste of time. Its like an MMORPG with nothing to do.

Has anyone seen Pan’s Labyrinth? Crazy movie, I recommend it but take note that it is extremely brutal. Like its not LotR “scary” its freaking stab someone in the face brutal. The whole movie isn’t like that, it has a really good story and characters.

w00t?

Alright, alright… when did “woot” cease to be the sole property of l33t haxxors and gamerz and start being commonly used by 1. females, and 2. ones who have never played a video game in their lives? And more importantly than when, how?
