Northlandia

well today was my first day at expression and my god this place is amazing. my first two classes (or first 10 weeks) involve me and 5 other randomly grouped students making a short film. we do all the behind the scenes work like filming and audio and script writing and we need to hire/find actors to be in it. its gonna be awesome. ill let you guys see it when its finished (assuming we dont suck ass)

On another note, FF12 is godly. Im level 20ish and im just leaving the um tribe of people south of the giza plains who were supposedly gonna tell me how to use the nethicite and i gotta go to a mountain or something. the game does seem a tad easyish so far, but im sure it will get alot harder. didnt someone say garuda was an esper? cuz i got nothin from him.

anyone going to coachella this year? im planning on heading out there and camping if anyone would like to partake in the dead heat. its gonna be a mostly decent year this time around.

Definitely not an esper. And the game unfortunately doesn’t become too much harder. Some of the hunts are tough, but the game is very easy overall. Fun though. Beats 8 in my book, but doesn’t shake a stick at 6 or 7 IMHO.

Jeez im I the only one who hasnt finished it? thats a little sad seeing as i bought it first. The game is sortof as tough as you make it i’ve found, alot like FF8. If you realize how to use the license board and stuff like that, come prepared to boss battles and know gambits, the game is significantly easier. On a side note, lately i’ve really been enjoying final fantasy III on the DS. Essentially you get that game by dividing final fantasy XII by final fantasy IV.

haha, the thing about the License Board is you really can’t make a mistake. Just put a Golden Amulet on “Person X” and bam, you’ve got enough points to do whatever you want. Also, just getting the lower left of the upper right section = sauce.

well its easy in the way that 50% of the bosses ive faught so far I can just chain a quickening, swap one person in, repeat a few times, and ive won the battle.. the only time I couldnt do that was on the green dragon you fight in the jungle on your way to the mountain top above the rift. although its easy, i love it. The hunts are like omg im spending as much time as i did in ff11!

ok but you know the guy you need to fight in the “tracks of the beast” in giza plains? how the hell do you get to him? ive chopped down every damned tree i could find but it stills said i need more driftwood… grumble..

There’s one tree in like all but two zones. Just do anothe sweep, you’re probably missing one. And be prepared for an annoying fight if you’re undergeared. He’s really, really easy, but if you can’t get through his armor its ><><><>< And ya, they kinda prevent chain quickening later on on many of the hunts/bosses because they constantly cast AoEs that prevent you from switching characters unless you let one die. I actually rarely use em nowadays (really close to the end) just because Magick > them if you can take the hits. But for the first half they saved my life (them and summons, which I haven’t used since the green dragon in the Henne Mines >.>

Ya it gets really hard to use quickenings later and is less effective ( unless you do the right combos to get the insane finishing moves) fyi: Some of them are insanely hard to do, like black hole is 3 level 3 quickenings activated for 3 characters=nuts.

Basically I just filled in all of the augmenting licenses and equip the best heavy armor because it enhances your strength and find the best one hand sword and basically melee everythin and don’t even worry about magic or anything but healing sometimes, and I rock. All of the marks and bosses were really easy.

Sounds like you picked the right school Schenk. Good luck with your first project. Isn’t FFXII awesome?! I am still playing it, I even bought a strategy guide =\ to try and get all the content done but some of the weapons have ridiculous requirements in order to get them. Mind you, I didn’t get the strategy guide till the last zone and only because I didn’t want to spend even more time talking to everyone in the cities.

Ya, nice try to cover your ass Cano, you cheater.

Anyway, that’s a good strat I think Micah. I went with a combo Light/Heavy on my tank (heavy for chest, light for head). Gives you good HP with the best Magick and Melee Defense, but you’ll lack in STR a bit. Then pure heavy on my DD and pure Mystic on my healer/caster.

Some of the bosses will start to be melee immune at certain stages, or throughout the whole fight, so be sure to get some magick (not to mention it murders. I went heavy magick early on and just slaughtered, especially against the [element]-weak mobs).

right now ive got a pretty solid team , penelo and ashe are pretty hardcore magic, and with vaan as my uber kick your ass tank (he has like all the shield block licences and basically never gets hit) and its working pretty well, definitely working on getting the magic up, as its certainly becoming more essential.

and nothing wrong with teh strategy guide, i used the one from an OPM magazine for ff8 after i was about half way through so i could get everything.

and yes, this school is fucking amazing. ill show you guys when you drive through on your spring break.
